NCBI Outreach Events

The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is a division of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), which in turn is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). As a vital component of the NIH, the NCBI serves as a hub for storing, organizing, and providing access to vast amounts of biomedical and genomic data, fostering research and innovation in biotechnology and related fields.

The “stacking order” would thus be:

– NIH – National Institutes of Health
– NLM – National Library of Medicine
– NCBI – National Center for Biotechnology Information

The NCBI offers instructional on-line workshops on a regular basis that can be of great interest to biologists. In addition other events are offered: “codeathon”,
